I got some info about the man on news sites: The man was identified as Maj. Nidal Malik Hasan, a 39-year-old, eight-year veteran! This is horrible. Officials were investigating whether Hasan was his birth name or if he may have changed his name, possibly as part of a conversion to Islam. A federal official said Hasan is a U.S. citizen of Jordanian descent. Hasan was scheduled to be deployed to Iraq "and appeared to be upset about that," Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison, R-Texas, said.
As a Muslim, he was upset at the killing of Muslims in Iraq and Afghanistan, and Nader confirmed that he had been resisting deployment in either war zone.
It wouldn't surprise me at all, Sis. I think Christians in the USA are going to see things we have never seen before. They are wondering if this will fuel tension between Muslims and non-Muslims in the US military.
